Life in the valley

What growth forecasts mean for your move

A growing region can offer opportunity. Your decision still needs a plan grounded in your own circumstances.

A longer path to three million

UNLV’s Center for Business and Economic Research projected in July 2026 that Clark County would reach three million residents in 2055—ten years later than its prior forecast. The outlook anticipates slower growth rather than a simple continuation of past expansion.

A forecast is a planning tool

Population projections help explain long-term regional expectations. They do not guarantee employment growth, home appreciation, or investment returns. The UNLV forecast also does not account for short-term business cycles or irregular events. Keep the publication date and assumptions in view.

Bring the discussion back to your life

For a move, consider your work, income, housing costs, commute, and expected length of stay. For an investment, property condition, financing, expenses, and the proposed use need their own analysis. When tax, legal, or business questions arise, involve the relevant specialist.
